The 2nd annual Ashley’s Ride was a SUCCESS!!!!

Hello to all,

Thank you all so much for a huge SUCCESS in the 2nd Annual Ashley’s Ride. What a day full of fun as the emotions ran very high for Randy and me.

We all did it we raised $19,000.00 for NF… Wooo hooo so excited. This is a very special event to us and we could have never done this with out all of your support. We heard that we had over 200 bikes once again this year. So many wonderful people. I have to say that when the bikes started to roll into the Press Box that morning and the sun started to peek through the clouds I just knew that Ashley was watching over us as she always is.

Thank you all for your donations and for all the wonderful helper’s. We look forward to seeing you next year.

Thank you again all for your help in the fight against NF.

Ashley remembered at annual 2009 Walk for NF

The annual Walk for NF was May 9, 2009. Kelly Sexton, along with several friends, joined in the Walk, in Ashley’s memory. Pictured are (from left to right) Donna Sias, Kim Pendock, Kristie Sexton, Barb Woirol, Joan E Fleet and Kelly Sexton.

Despite the weather, hundreds of people participated in the 53rd Annual Riverbank Run/Walk. It’s so awesome to see people cheer everyone on as they cross the finish line. Before we crossed we locked arms and crossed as a group. Lot’s of cheers & tears. We are all looking forward to next year.

That evening we all met at the top of the B.O.B for an evening filled of fun. So many wonderful people came out to support us in the fight against NF. Just a few quick up date’s…. The Press Box in Mancelona will have breakfast bufffet for you the morning of Ashley’s Ride for $5.00.

We have quite a selection of auction items as well as silent auctions itemes. We are gonna have a busy day but yet fun! We really are looking forward to seeing all of you at this wonderful event.

The 4 stops for Ashley’s Ride are J & Bs Bar & Grill in Vienna, Ma Deeter’s in Luzerne where they will have a lunch special for us, Dingmans Bar on M-72 Kalkaska, The Road House in between Kalkaska & Mancelona the final stop at the Press Box in Mancelona where you will get your poker hand delt to you. Thank you to a family friend whom would like to remain anonymous for sponsoring the poker run. We will have a cash prize of $300.00 for 1st place, $100.00 for 2nd place & $50.00 for 3rd place.

Thanks to Abby Siebring and Chris Gruse of Kalkaska Spring & Fabricating for donating two pigs for the pig roast. Auction items are slowly trickling in.

The plans for Ashley’s Ride are moving right along. Some of the auctions items we have are golfing, flat screen TV, cedar chest, dinner gift certificates, hotel stay at Turtle Creek, bike’s, helmet, pedal car, awesome dart board, white caps tickets and much more. We look forward to seeing you all this year.

Ash loved people and cherished her time with family and friends. This is a photo of Randy and Ashley on June 30, 2007, just before she died. Ashley wanted to have an outdoor barbeque, and invite everyone over. It was a beautiful day, one we will always remember. Look at the bright smile on Ashley’s face. This is how everyone remembers our little girl! We welcome you to share your memories of Ashley.

Plans underway for 2nd annual “Ashley’s Ride”

Plans are now underway for the 2nd annual “Ashley’s Ride,” set for Saturday July 25, 2009. Participants are asked to bring their bike and enjoy a scenic motorcycle ride and poker run, followed by a pig roast, entertainment, auction, and raffle drawings. All proceeds benefit Neurofibromatosis, Inc for research.

The event will start at the Press Box in Mancelona at 10:00 a.m. We will return to the Press Box at approximately 4:00 p.m. Tickets will be $10 in advance, or $15 at the door. Please add $5 to partcipate in the Poker Run.

Donations to the auction will be greatly appreciated.
