THIRD ANNUAL ASHLEY’S RIDE – July 24, 2010

Hello, and welcome to Ashley’s Ride, a website created in loving memory of our daughter, Ashley Nicole Sexton. Ashley was diagnosed with a devastating disease 
called Neurofibromatosis (NF). At the age of 21, she died during her third surgery from this disease.
In July, 2008 Ashley’s family and friends held the first annual “Ashley’s Ride,” a benefit motorcycle ride, dinner and auction to not only help raise awareness of NF, but raise money to help find a cure so that others like her don’t have to suffer and lose their precious life to NF. The second ride was in July, 2009. In just two years, you have helped us raise more than $40,000 to help find a cure for NF!

The fight continues on, and we invite you to be a part of the 3rd annual Ashley’s Ride, July 24, 2010. The ride begins at the Press Box in Mancelona at 10:00 a.m., and returns at about 4:00 p.m. Upon our return, you’ll enjoy a pig roast, auction and entertainment. This year’s event is moving right along. We have several auction items and they are still coming in. The Press Box will once again offer breakfast the morning of the ride for just $5, so come hungry. We have decide to do the same route as last year due to all the positive feedback. The stops are J & Bs Bar & Grill in Vienna, Ma Deeter’s in Luzerne will have lunch specials for us upon arrival, Dingmans Bar on M-72 Kalkaska, The Road House between Kalkaska & Mancelona the final stop is the Press Box. We have 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for this year’s poker run.
Some of the auction items we have so far include a really cool play house, also some Harley Davidson items such as a plaque, picture frame, a woman’s denim jacket, and shirts to name a few. Also hair products, tickets for the Traverse City Beach Bums, hotel stays and many more.

Another GREAT year for Ashley’s Ride, each year when we see all the people that come out to support us, just takes my breath away. Randy & I can’t thank you all enough for your continued support. We raised $19,000.00 this year WOW. Plan’s are already underway for next year’s event so mark your calender for July 23, 2011. We have a new route underway and some great idea’s that the Ashley’s Ride staff have come up with… We look forward to seeing you next year & Thank You for your support in the fight against NF..
